"My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was sixty. She's ninety-three today and we don't know where the hell she is." ~Ellen DeGeneres

June 30
I got up early today to do my miles before I had to work all day. I did 5 miles in 1 hr and 22 min (16.4 min/mile). My toes are still hurting. I emailed Rachel and she suggested tying my shoes in a particular way to see if that helps. I'll do that for tomorrow.
Sara and I are off on another adventure, this time to help the refugees (mostly from war-torn Syria) as they arrive on the Island of Lesvos, Greece. I'm happy to share our experiences with you and to lessen the nearly 6,000 miles that will separate us during this trip. Also, my hope is that this blog will bring you closer to this part of the world, to provide insight into what's going on here, and to give you a glimpse into the local Greek culture.
